The prevalence of cyberbullying among youth is increasing, as highlighted by the latest data from the OECD Digital Economy Outlook 2024.
Between 2017/18 and 2021/22, all OECD countries with available data saw an uptick in reported cases of cyberbullying among 11 to 15-year-olds.
Lithuania, Latvia, and Poland exhibit the highest rates, with over 20% of youths reporting having experienced cyberbullying at least once in the last couple of months when asked during 2021-2022.
Even countries with relatively lower rates have seen notable increases, such as Spain, Netherlands, Greece and Norway.
