According to the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA) the energy transition under IRENA’s 1.5°C Scenario pathway could lead to a total of 20 million energy sector jobs in Africa by 2030 and 23 million by 2050. This is over 5 million more jobs than in Planned Energy Scenario based on the status quo.
