A Lost Decade of World Trade Integration for Least Developed Countries

A new report from the World Trade Organization shows that the least developed countries (LDCs) share of world exports declined from 0.95% in 2011 to 0.91% in 2020. This falls way short of the target of doubling LDCs exports to 2% by 2020 pledged by the world under the Istanbul Programme of Action for LDCs in 2011 and the Sustainable Development Goal Target 17.11. There are at present 46 LDCs according to the UN.
